That motherboard simply wasn't made for mining. Too much power going through too many slots for prolonged periods eventually killed that functionality of the board.

I was afraid that was going to be the answer. The only thing that I don't understand is why the NIC card in a PCI slot works. Is it because it requires a lot less "band" width on the MB?

I think I wised up and purchased a ASRock H81 PRO BTC R2.0 LGA 1150 MB made for mining. Hopefully it will handle six 1070's with out destroying itself?

Probably because it's only an x1 card. Maybe it's because it doesn't need much power or is using different power pins (PCIe slots provide multiple voltages).

But that gives me an idea. You only need x1 for mining. Can you go into the BIOS and set all of your PCIe slots to x1? They should be set to x16 or x8 by default.

I don't think the BIOS has an option to set X8 and X16 slots to X1. At least I could not find it. I've tried running just one card with a riser in an X1 slot and that does not work. The BIOS hangs.

You did not answer my ASRock Pro BCT R2.0 1150 MB for mining question.

I didn't know there was a question about it.

You're correct. I just wanted to know if you had a information on the reliability of the Board driving multiple GPU's. I don't want to destroy another MB that is not ready for 24/7 mining.

That's not what I was saying.

It's not like the PSU has a black box that records that it's been running at 24/7 so when you RMA it, EVGA can look at it and say, "Oh.. This was used for mining. We won't warranty this." Impossible. Not going to happen.

Furthermore, OP said he was only pushing the PSU about 50% of its capability.
