Bq sp11 and rmx are both seen as high end units. I do own a rmx my self, and the fan doesn't even spin at all because i'm not challenging the psu with a strong video card. Ideally it would be for it to spin even at a very low rpm at low loads.

Wow! Really? Didn't know the Focus Gold has these problems!

Thank you for pointing me to the right direction. It would be really disappointing to get the Focus if it has these problems and I learned about it afterwards!

    Be Quiet! here I come!!!

Thank you for mentioning the zero speed feature. When I read about it for RM550x and the Focus Gold I thought it was a really cool feature.
So you think that since the BQ SP11 is always spinning its fan (and not heard) is better?

It is a personal thing, but my brain takes note of changes which I therefore find distracting.

A constant (mild) hum is a lot less disturbing, in my opinion.

Just got word from Corsair's support regarding the warranty.
I am posting it so others can get informed.

So long as the shop isn't selling it used or opened-box you will have a warranty. Note that the PSU should be shrink wrapped in plastic and there should be no additional stickers over the barcodes and serial numbers of the PSU box.

So, it seems that if I were to get the Corsair from a not-authorised retailer the warranty would be valid.
    But no need now.

I have already ordered the be Quiet! SP11 550w.

Thank you all for your valuable input!
