Default [Review request] PSU of In Win A1 Plus

    Hi!
I wanted to buy the case InWin A1 Plus that recently came out.
Since it's one of the few case coming with a psu I would love to see a review here on JG since it's the best site for PSU review.

I know it's a bit weird to review such psu, but it would still be a lot helpfull for anyone that want that case for a small pc

I wouldn't trust any of those Amazon reviews as they don't really outline what the problem is besides "computer shut down when overclocked." Even the "Kernel Power 41" error doesn't necessarily relate to a power supply problem as it could be a motherboard safety kicking in (OTP on the VRM) and causing the system to unexpectedly shut down.

What you say is correct, but it is all I have at the moment and the supplies that come with cases are not always the best, or so I have read. Then again, with the Internet, one can normally find whichever conclusion one desires.

SFX cases seem to be the noteable exceptions to this. InWin also generally has a decent pack-in PSU when it's not a P-PFC unit and something that's 80+

Obviously brand does matter in this case and no-name chinese SFX case with PSU may not be worthwhile but most of the big brands have done well with their SFX pack in units.

In Win A1's PSU what definetly garbage.
The PSU is the biggest difference between A1 and A1 plus. In the A1 plus the PSU is a 650W Gold DC-DC.

I asked for a review mostly because the old PSU was terrible and I hoped the new was at least average.

Actually the A1 and A1+ are exceptions, I think they are the only sff PCs with an included PSU.
Also, to be fair, most of the best sff case are from smaller manufracteur so they don't have their own PSU.

We don't really know if the PSU is terrible or not. As TatorTot said, its entirely possible that they messed up the build. And since the A1 is ~50 (or more) less than the A1+, its safe to assume that the A1+ is used in Systems that are more thought out and have a better component choice, while the A1 can be used for some shit like a H310 Board with a 9900K and some useless Heatsink (for that CPU). Or the 9700 non K with the Boxed Heatsink...
And thus the Board switches off, not the PSU.

And combine that with an nVidia x080ti is also possible...

I have no Idea what they use but they also have lower cost, double Forward with DC-DC.

IIRC the Mask has posted some pictures about Inwin and how they "optimized" newer DC-DC Units. Didn't look too great but somewhat that could be OKish...
