Default Is this a good SFX alternative?

So many SFX are absurdly priced just because they are small.

How would this thing hold up with a budget APU setup? (2400G 16GB RAM, SSD)

    It's fine. Just loud.

As Jon said, it's loud. Idle fan noise is definitely audible and if you hit high CPU usage then you'll definitely hear the fan ramp up hard.

I used that unit with a Thermaltake Core G3, Cooler Master Seidon 240M (2x Corsair SP120QEs) and a Core i5 3570K. I ended up switching the PSU out to a Silverstone ST30SF-V2. Now the system is virtually silent under load. At least from 8ish feet away as it's my new livingroom HTPC. There's also a Sapphire Pulse RX 570 4GB in that system, but unless gaming the fans are stopped below 60C.

Corsair use a 92mm fan, AFAIK everyone else uses 80mm.

Not all, SilverStone SST-ST30SF v2.0 uses a 92mm fan for example.

    No
Some do use 92mm fans, some use 60mm fans.

Some even used 80x25mm fans, though that's rather uncommon these days. But back in the day that was more common.

60mm seems really tiny by any standard.

It's for SFX designs that blow air front to back, like 80mm fans in ATX power supplies.

Most new SFX units coming out now are using 90-92mm fans, and SFX-L units are using 100-120mm fans.

An example from an FSP unit.
    An older one...
