Practical test with modern high end GPU would be interesting.
does it work with a 2080ti or something like that or doesn't it?
Thank you to Tator for bringing us the link. And thank you to Paul for bringing us one last review.
I especially liked this review because I have a 750-X from 2011 and some 650-X PSU's from 2010-2014. I've switched them around and they have not been hard used, so they should have life in them yet. It's great to see the very unit I am using get reviewed.
Core i7 4770K @4.3GHz + iGPU | GA-Z87X-UD4H | 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3@1600MHz
Prolimatech Armageddon heatsink w/ 2 x 140mm NF-A14 PWM fans
Samsung 840 Pro 512GB SSD | WD Red 3TB backup disk | Seagate 1 TB SSD USB file drive
Fractal Design Define R5 case w/2 x NF-A14 ULN front fans | no exhaust fan; grill removed
PSU Seasonic X-650 Gold
Thanks Paul for a very interesting recap!
This goes to show that if you get a PSU with quality capacitors you don't need to *drumroll* recap
Actually I'd wager a guess that the small reduction in efficiency is due to the primary side caps being a bit stressed out by the APFC circuit through the years.

VEGA56 as a stand in should work as well. Those are rather cheap if you're lucky you can get one for around 250€ or so...
The Seasonic P660 I happen to be able to lay my hands on doesn't work with VEGA.
Can't test the Huntkey because I misplaced my C19 Cable...
