The primary is quick and robust enough that it can take the transient load gracefully. Perhaps there could be some instantaneous spikes left unchecked but nothing too serious; I expect the overall load/unload performance to be fair, if not exactly stellar. An interesting side effect might be long-term resiliency, as there's no tan-delta of the filter caps potentially deteriorating over time due to internal losses + a minor efficiency boost.
Careful what you wish for... You just might get it.
