    Default PSU Advice: FSP Hexa 85+ / CX450 / CX450M

    Hi everybody,

I need a little help choosing between these PSUs.

System: CPU i5 8400, GPU 1060 6Gb, 2x8Gb 3000Mhz, 1SSD, 1HDD, 6-8 system coolers, case with PSU mounted in separate space (inflow from outside the case). No OC for now, but I may upgrade for a i7/i9 in the future. The system will use 4 monitors (I doubt this matters...but anyway ) Activities: backtesting large series of data, 2D graphics, gaming. Noise don't matter that much, it will be noisy anyway.

    1. FSP Hexa 85+ 450W 63$
    2. Corsair CX450 (2017) 60$
    3. Corsair CX450M(2015) 64$

    4. FSP Hexa 85+ 550W 68$
    5. Corsair CX550 (2017) 80$
    6. Corsair CX550M(2015) 82$

You're doing a gret job here, lots of technical data and well structured. Thanks in advance.

    which GPU will you use?
P.S. if you don't already have the CPU, look at the AMD ryzen, for the same price you get a lot more!

It will probably be a GB Windforce OC.
I looked at Ryzen 1700, but I prefer VGA onboard as backup in case dedicated GPU will fail sometime. Thanks for the advice.

At the PSU list above I will add:

    7. FSP HEXA 85+ 80+ Bronze 650W 57$ (on offer, because it's cheaper not for the watts!)

Of those I’d take the CX450 (best of the lot) or the HEXA 85+ 650 because it’s the cheapest.

Thanks, CX450 was my first choice too (from what I read here). The only drawdown were the 2 OEM platforms in which it's delivered.
