    Why should also be mentioned to take something from it:
    "Double Forward" is a circuit consisting of two switches. therefore "double". It is the supply circuit for the main converter that allows the energy transfer, because it is not transferred voltage but energy. Since energy is transferred and no voltage is always a problem with the voltage when more energy is transferred than is consumed. Therefore you need the control loop in the PFC stage and the control loop in the main converter. If you have overvoltage at the output, the control loop is usually always to blame, because either it can not follow the load fast enough or it is shitty Dimensioned.
    The PFC stage provides a rectified voltage with a supply line dependent sine wave equal to twice the line frequency that is smoothed. This voltage feeds the main converter, which also transfers energy from the primary to the secondary side - no voltage.
    normally 12 volt DC output ripple. This output voltage now supplies all voltage cascades which form the necessary potentials from the mentioned output voltage of the main converter: 3.3V, 5V, 12V. This is done in much the same way as the main converter made the 400 volts of the PFC stage to 12 volts. The only difference, and the emphasis is on only one, is the performance per cascade and the fact that only 5 olts out of 12 volts have to be made. Therefore, the converters are smaller and ready to buy as a DC-DC converter. Practically it's all the same.
    The only difference is the size and the performance class. And just in the fact that PFC Stage and main converter must be designed by yourself. if you omit the Glammour it is the wiring of a controller chip that DC-DC Converter of course also have. You can buy it as a box in which everything is contained internally and solder them on a board or as a kit, which you can design within its max specs according to your own needs. Look at the voltage converters on your motherboard - also the same. Every now and then controllers are used, which are normally used for GPU supply. Mostly on gamer boards

    This is the correct answer.

    Not sure how would anyone say there is no difference when these are two unrelated things. Remember that primary and secondary side are isolated via main transformer.

    Thus double forward and DC-DC have nothing to do with each other. You can have double forward primary PSU with another secondary topology (mag-amp group or indy regulated) and you can have DC-DC secondary PSU with another primary topology too (HB/FB LLC resonant, active clamp, etc).
