Double forward and half bridge are two different things.
You can have DF half bridge, full bridge and you can have LLC half bridge, full bridge, bridgeless, etc.

Is someone ever going to write this all up with diagrams and the like?

I saw many pages about these topologies but it's not clearly explained and topic isn't exhausted in my opinion. Also i think topologies are on of the hardest things in power supplies if we want to discuss from a to z and i think handful of people know much about this stuff. so that's why no one wants to clarify that.
Actually there are many detailed explanations on the web, but it requires some amount of electronical knowledge to understand it XD
Really? didn't know that. But many articles distinguish 'double forward' and 'half bridge', so how should I accept that?
yes, u are right, but theoretically. for example there is no any guide or i'm just blind, but i didn't find any articles how for example distinguish double forward and half-bridge topology with each other by looking inside case. of course its explained for example here> http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/e...tes/01207b.pdf but still.
It's so funny. I replied and deleted three times since yesterday.
Then I was like, "I'll do a drawing!". Then I remembered I don't have time for a drawing.
So my answer: Half bridge has half as many transistors as full bridge.
Ok... That's not helpful.
I really need to find time and a writing partner to write a book people will read.
BUT WHO WILL READ IT?!!?!
Today's market has proven that you have to have a vide in order to get an audience!!!
