Nope, I have no idea (better or worse), but that doesn't mean I have to agree with what Trump is doing. Just because someone (Trump) finally decided to act isn't an excuse for the sledgehammer approach. The only one entitled to the sledgehammer approach is mother nature We have the ability to think.
You know what is really fucked-up? Mostly, we all know, we live in a consumer society. Mostly, we are against exploitation (of people, child labour,... earth's resources). Mostly, we all like getting stuff for less
We are just a bunch of hypocrites...
And we worry if Trump or nature will destroy our source of cheap goods

strumf666 nailed it. when i comes down to it, nobody really wants what's right. including me. using our leverage to get cheap work out of desperate poor people is like slavery 2.0. we basically can't make it without cheating in some way because our way of life is unsustainable without massive waste and cruelty. i'm no better than anyone else since i enjoy life in the usa and use products created by people that literally have to have nets around their workplace to catch them when they try to kill themselves on their lunch brake. funny part is we invented mass production but now they can't pay americans to do hard work any more. we used to be all farms and factories. not sure what went wrong. i'm probably talking out of my ass but i think that's the jist of it. we'll always go for the best deal without thinking about why it's so cheap.

Well then, China has some of the most impressive track record of poverty reduction in history since their pro-trade/market reforms in 80s, with most poor still living in rural areas, so consumerism exploitation argument doesn't really apply to them either.
