Default Seasonic S12 II voltage questions

I have a seasonic s12 ii 620 psu that i bought in 2017-it appears to be the newer model having flattened cables.

On my unit, the idle voltage on the 3.3v rail stays at 3.41 volts(approx),while under load it dips to around 3.36 volts. The reason this concerns me is that the idle voltage is rather close to the upper threshold of the atx tolerance limit of 3.465v.

I'm aware that software readings aren't necessarily accurate, but if my psu is indeed generating 3.4v on the 3.3v rail then is it safe to continue using it any further? Will an output of 3.4v potentially damage any components of my pc?

The psu was only purchased last year and has about 4 years warranty remaining-is there any cause for alarm due this issue and do i need to have the psu rma'd?

Is the somewhat high output on the 3.3v rail a common characteristic of this particular psu?Acc. to this review that i found elsewhere, during real world load tests the idle voltage of the s12ii 620 stayed at 3.44V,which increased to 3.45V under load conditions:

Does the s12ii 620 have any design flaw that could be the cause of this?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your message.

As you said, third party software to read voltages are far away to be accurate. You may want to give a try with a multimeter to make sure of your voltages and any further results, please don't hesitate to contact us.

    Thank you.
    Best regards,

Fixed, you accidentally added the word "necessarily".

The S12II 620 is just a 8,5 years old power supply, with group regulation. You should expect bad voltage regulation on the 5V and 12V, it's just the design. The 3,3V should be OK however.

Is the fact that its producing 3.4v on its 3.3v rail enough to warrant sending it for RMA?

Can the continued use of this power supply possibly cause any kind of irreparable damage to my pc?

What problems might arise if the voltage on the 3.3v rail goes out of spec?

Can the voltage on the 3.3v rail be measured from a SATA power connector? If yes, how?

3.4V is well inside ATX specs.
    3.135-3.465V.

Moved posts to new thread. No need to bump year old thread to discuss PSU voltages.
