    Then don't upgrade the graphics card until you have more money.

    Sadly, many people don't research their power supply when building a new PC. Live and learn.

    I agree with your statements. Not upgrading GPU until he can afford a PSU that will not destroy his new GPU makes sense.

    And not researching PSU's is a sad but common practice.

    You guys are probably right. First pc build. I had researched litteraly every single component but for some reason I thought coolermaster was a reasonable brand. I guess i'll just wait until black friday. Haven't had any problems with my PSU yet though, and it should be able to handle 100000 hours atleast. One question though, what is crossloading and when does it happen?...

    There are 12, 5 and 3.3V outputs, if only one is regulated (group regulation) then when the supply is loaded it adjusts to keep that one voltage the same, and then others can be affected. If the lines are separately regulated this cross influence does not occur.

    In the future power supplies may only produce one voltage (the 10 year old desktop I am using at the moment has a power supply that only produces 12V) and then the problem does not even exist.
