Default Will 650w be enough for that hardware?

Now's not a great if the past few months are anything to go by Time for a UK futon mattress maker. Dorlux and Sleepvendor appointed administrators, and Silentnight Group restructured its factories in an effort to bring output down .

With consumers reluctant to spend much #300 increasing, on a bed Plenty of companies seemingly pleased to churn out a bed for the same price as a good lunch, gains and Raw material prices are tough to find in the bed market.

Among the major problems is that companies have been losing Cash for debts and years have mounted. According to the UK Beds and Bedding report by Plimsoll, over a fifth of futon mattress companies (22%) are loss making. Many companies are selling at a loss to maintain production claims the accounts, and almost half of companies (43 percent ) have spent the past three years increasing debt levels.

This will keep doing so and is currently causing difficulties. As the Business has heard from Courts and non-furniture retail collapses, asking the bank for money to make it through a time of tough cashflow isn't an alternative. Not throwing good money after bad sounds that the headline from lenders.

As was seen by Christie-Tyler, high debts led to high interest repayments. Blend this needed to support the debt, and you've got a recipe for corporate collapse. Plimsoll says a quarter of producers are at risk of going out of business with debt amounts costing #60m a year.

The National Bed Federation says bed sales fell by 5.1 First quarter of this year, based on its members' sales which accounts for about 70 percent of the bed market. Producers suffered a drop than those who enjoyed a rise in earnings, although performance among members varied widely.

Among those who saw turnover fall half experienced a Collapse between 11% to 20%. If this trend continues throughout 2005 it's probably casualties will emerge firms can survive for long when losing about 15 percent of sales.

Additional casualties are inevitable, according to Ebrahim Patel, Vogue Beds md.'There is going to be a realignment from the market. There are too many bed manufacturers,' he states.

Among these are companies which have failed to react to harder Times and also have rested on their laurels. 'It's been a challenging season for all, but companies have been complacent rather than tightened up. We're living and keeping our heads as we are compact and can respond faster,' he says.

'Businesses can live in their title - not the item. The title Find it and does market but at some stage people take a look at the goods's not good enough. There are and they are not.'

Some of the oversupply in the market is the result of Owners being not able to realise their investment and having no option but to ride out the downturn.

'Many companies are only still going is tied up in it. Unless you have cash I would not begin [a futon mattress company]. It would be tough to repeat what we did, moving in to beds and beginning as a company that is futon mattress deciding we needed to go more upmarket. It is quite tough to find out what is the best futon mattress for you and your family

'You need a Lot of money if You're not in the base, to do it end. It is like football: there's a gap between the top and the others.'

Patel has seen an upturn in the Last Few weeks, but has restricted, Ambitions for 2005, If realistic.

'Things are OK. We have come back following the Yearly shutdown in July and it's quite busy - it creates a change. Hopefully we'll make something [ie profit] . Someone demise is our benefit and we have to take that advantage'

As a merchant, the tendency has been defied by Dreamworks Beds for Sales since its foundation. 'Retailers tell me it's a whole lot tougher, and tougher for more, than in previous decades,' says Peter Ziemniak, md..

The key for Dreamworks has been deliveries - not always the Speed (its deliveries are weekly) - however the reliability. 'We've spent a lot in building up inventory of our pocket sprung bedframes and beds. Ithas paid off for us and's important to retailers. Advertisers need a product that once they have sold it, it's all fantastic news, and that is guaranteed delivery. Promises are the thing,' he says.

There are many manufacturers, according to Steve Gill, Silentnight Group commercial director, because the barriers to entry are low.

'It is not capital start by making futon mattresses lockup. Additionally, there are too many manufacturers chasing a number of retailers,' he adds.

It doesn't matter if the closure is a chain like Allders Or Courts, or a one-man independent, it still leaves retailers with a multitude of suppliers and a smaller client base to pick from.

The expansion will causes both the likely retail casualties Of too little experience in addressing a downturn and the chains. Established businesses have been through protracted periods of bad sales prior to, and when they've endured those, they need to be able to replicate their survival strategy again.

However, the worry is higher for those retailers that set up more Lately, especially in the past five to 10 years, who have experienced nothing but the benefits of charge and booming house prices fuelled consumer spending. These are the companies that will need to understand how to attract shoppers during times and make a profit.

It is Most likely to face the highest risks. After all, promotions to keep production and in effect purchase market share as a result of their scale can be offered by the larger manufacturers.

Such a strategy may not have shareholders jumping for joy It could well be enough to ensure their survival - both by eliminating weaker players and maintaining the cashflow trickling in.

There is also the contradictory info on what to do with marketing Budgets during demanding times. Don't spend whatever you don't need to, asserts a single camp, while another points out that this is precisely the time to increase the advertising spend to make sure you get what shoppers there are through your doorway, rather than that of the rivalry.

However, has also found signs of an upturn in recent weeks, Even though it's too soon to tell if it is a blip or a strong upturn. Group sales jumped by a third in the week and were 56% higher than a month earlier.

'If we get this, I feel That we've turned a corner,' Gill adds.

And so will a great many other people in the bed trade.

With or without overclocking? And if you overclock, is it gonna be a extreme overclock?

My point of reference: The Corsair One uses a heavily overclocked, watercooled 980 Ti and it's only powered by an SF600.
