Default I need help determining if my ram needs replacing.

I recently started having problems with my PC, BSOD and Chrome crashes and while looking around I found out that it might be my memory. I am currently running memtest but I am not sure how to interpret the results. Right now it is still at pass 0 but the test has already found lots of errors Facebook Netflix Skype. Does that mean that my ram is faulty and I should get a new one?

Note that I only have one ram stick and a new one at that, just a year and a half.

    Thanks.

Change the slot; test again. Memtest normally does a great job, and the PC BIOS may also contain a RAM tester.

I had a Dell where the RAM was fine on some slots, not others; turned out to be the motherboard, although I believe that is rare.

Be sure to purchase quality RAM, and test whatever you buy.

Buy some isopropyl alcohol and clean the memory slots and the metal contacts of your ram sticks with it (remove power from pc, use a soft toothbrush with soft or some other kind of paintbrush that won't leave strands, wait until the alcohol evaporates)

burn a cd or create a usb stick with memtest and leave it running for at least one pass... could be half an hour or more: https://www.memtest86.com/download.htm
