    Arrow NZXT E850 Review

For the first time since 2012, we're looking at a brand new unit from NZXT - the E series at 850 watts. They're back, and they're looking to make an impact with a unit that features software integration as one of its many perks. Shall we find out how it stacks up against some strong competition? Of course we shall.

The Gold Certs for the 650/850 appeared May 2017 on PlugLoad.com; why would it take 15 or so months later to get these to market? XFX is absent with the XTi 1000w (Feb 2017 Cert); even something like EVGA 1300/1600 G+, listed 4months ago ... what explains delays after certification like these, in a sentence or less

edit: Article Correction > "But knowing Seasonic, they don't do things like this without careful consideration first. It's why they still don't have anything bigger than 1250 watts" > the 1300w Gold / Plati are on blowout @Newegg, $190 / $220 shipped after rebate (sale/rebate ends soon)

edit: Value Score of 7 > as you mentioned, priced @$150/Newegg, let us not forget the new Antec 1000watter > Antec HCG1000 Extreme 1000W PSU Review: Good Looks For $150 ... "Under the hood, Antec utilizes a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold platform ... " ... also ~$150 @Newegg

Because it's the same report as the Seasonic Focus 850W:

    https://clearesult5.sharepoint.com/:...wp-6fWXKIu1n8A

(As well as the Antec HCG Extreme and Gold).

Because these failing companies don't want to invest or even risk having 80 PLUS test an actual shipping product. So what they do is, with Seasonic's consent, tell "CleaResult" (as they're called now) that the NZXT is based off of the Seasonic Focus 850W and they just copy and paste the report onto a new report and slap "NZXT" on it.

This is why we test all platforms and not only the base one. OEM customers can ask for dozens of modifications (or the OEM can do those without even the final brand being aware of those).

But for many brands the 80 Plus way works like a charm, since they don't have to spend any money at all and don't care of course whether the platform meets some specific requirements or not. Basically it is a free pass for most of them.

The whole truth coming to light is a problem for some (even key players), but whatever is the case personally I will move forward and I don't care about the consequences, some of them I already face.

In the end this product is only an option if you feel software control is must have for you. Otherwise there are much better options.

What do you mean about failing? Are they going out of PSU business?
