Dell would work with OEMs directly, not through a reseller like Corsair.

True, but I see Corsair as a step above reseller in that they design their own units, even if they don't manufacture them.

Please correct me if I am wrong in any of this understanding.

Sure, but what do they gain from going with Corsair + OEM? You are then adding cost for a middleman (Corsair) without saving any money nor always gaining in quality (No offence to Corsair Engineers, they are fantastic, but OEMs like Delta/LiteOn have a whole fucking lot of experience in the PSU space).

Good point; guess that is why I seem to end up recapping old OEM units.

It's not really about the quality as many of the units that Dell (or any other big-box PC manufacturer) is using are basically on par with something like Corsair's VS Series.
They choose OEMs based on contract costs and supply size. An OEM like Seasonic, SuperFlower, and even CWT couldn't meet the needs of a company like Dell. They just ship too many PCs.

There's still probably another one I am forgetting.

Yes, they do, although, the number of Huntkey units compared to Delta/AcBel/LiteOn units seem disproportionately low, might just be the specific models I deal with though (I work in PC decommissioning, I see a lot of OEM PSUs).

You're forgetting flextronics, which makes quite a lot of oem models, including the basic apple 5v1a charger cube.
