The ASUS boards, in particular, run the chips fairly hard in Auto and XMP modes. You can usually lower the loadline calibration and even offset the CPU core voltage negative. With a crappy cooler, I would stick closer to intel's reference speeds. What speed is that CPU supposed to run with all 6(12) cores loaded, 3.7Ghz? I believe 4.7 is only for 1 or 2 cores. Even with a good cooler, ASUS' baseline settings are stable, but a bit overkill for the speeds they are trying to achieve.
