The HX Platinum is only a year on the market, so it's highly unlikely it's getting replaced soon.

Yeah. Not much purpose behind refreshing the HX except to:

    1. Have it meet Intel DSG 1.41/CEC compliance
    2. Put it in a smaller size housing

Both of these will likely increase its cost.

But HXi -> Replace the Type 3 ATX Connector with a Type 4 one.

Just so it can get better reviews? I'm getting over that. At least the in-cable caps. The sense wires a good idea, though.

For the record: I was not PSU PM at Corsair when the decision to put cap in cables was made.

    No
So that I can use the ATX Cable from the GX-F and don't have to replace it with the PSU, now that there are more and more units coming with Corsair Type 4 Connectors.

I don't give a damn about the Caps

So its more about the Sense wires and "streamlining" the Corsair Lineup, so that you only have one kind of connector for all.

Oh.. well... to answer THAT question...

Everything moving forward will have the sense wires.

NOT everything moving forward will have caps.

Not even a basic model without sense wires? I still wonder about sense wires getting broken and the power supply trying to compensate excessively.

I'm all for Kelvin connectors, but still worry about what could go wrong.
