Default Newbie with PSU repair question

    Hey guys,

I'm new to this repair stuff, so bear with me, please. I just got a Corsair
HX650W, and it is dead. I checked the fuse, and it is OK. I looked at all the capacitors that I could see, and none of them were bulged, or burnt. Could
anyone tell me where to start? Also, I'm looking for a wiring diagram for this
one and a Corsair AX760. Could you point me in the right direction? I have
scoured the web, and can find no diagrams, or schematics.

    Respectfully yours,

    Barry Kratzer

If you just got the HX650 and it's dead, why did you void the warranty? Why not swap it out for a new one?

Wiring diagram for the cables is in a sticky at the top of these forums: http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13740

However, the conclusion to this book is that it is just not worth the time and trouble.

It is dangerous working inside of a PC power supply, even with an isolation transformer, so I would advise against trying to fix it.

I think he bought it to try and fix it. If he would try warranty would Corsair ask for proof of purchase

There is a pile of broken Corsair power supplies on ebay, but I am guessing they are no longer covered by the warrantee; here are almost 200

Yes. But sometimes you can talk your way around it if you don't act like a scammer first. But if it's open, that's it. No warranty.

Yeah. My guess is those were scrapped and the serial numbers flagged. I think someone raided an RMA stock.
