Default Bitfenix Formula Gold 650W review @ Tomshardware

After the success of its Whisper PSU family, BitFenix is following up with a more affordable Formula Gold line-up. Currently, there are four models in this series with capacities ranging from 450W to 750W. They all feature 80 PLUS Gold and ETA-A efficiency. When it comes to noise, Cybenetics gives the 450W and 550W models LAMBDA-A++ (<15 dB[A]) ratings, while the 650W and 750W units achieve LAMBDA-A+ (15 to 20 dB[A]) acoustic readings.

Hah, I love this series and Bitfenix PSUs in general (except Fury). PSU PM must know what he's doing.

After Fury was released some guys left and new people came on board before a new approach to PSU was made. Fury and Whisper/Formula are totally different crew.

I do wish they would stop with the pig-tail of the CPU & PCIe connectors but otherwise these are excellent units.

Providing you can get them as low as 64€...they are probably the best placed units of the entire market!

Cant see any reason to pay more for any other Gold unit despite having a better fan and modularity.

This is the one. Period. The unit that finally brought us the top tier performance to entry level price.

    Great job BitFenix!

Certainly didn't get worse. From a overpriced Aurum to some nice PSU's for a great price.

Agreed, but at least this is a non modular PSU, which makes it less of a problem.

What a great unit... And they are very cheap in Spain too, but poorly distributed, unfortunately. Certainly Bitfenix is offering PSUs with almost no weak points. Maybe having a Rifle fan and not FDB, but at least they're silent enough and warranty periods are long enough. Bravo

I am not worried about the fan. Tremendous value. A real killer.
