Focus Plus has a semi-fanless mode (selectable via switch).

Focus is Semi Modular, uses SF2C fan control (so no Semi-Fanless mode), and has a shorter warranty period (7 years vs 10 Years in the US).

I made a table a few months back describing the differences:

Thanks for the table. The Focus Plus seemed to be superior until you reach the part about the in-cable caps.

The difference in fan is probably because you compare different wattages with each other.

And the Focus Gold 450W is also a Focus PSU. The Focus Gold 450W based on the same platform as EVGA used in the GS series has never launched, instead Seasonic used the same Focus platform.

Naa, it might be becuase one series only goes up to 750W, the other to 1000W.
And Seasonic tends to use the same fan for an entire series.

ie 450W and 850W of the same plattform would have the same fan.

Usually you use different fans for the lower and higher wattage ones, because that would reduce the fan RPM under lower load conditions with the lower wattage models.
And then switch to a higher RPM fan somewhere down the like for example Bitfenix Whisper M does that with the 650W Model...

The two internal shots we have of the Focus FM, the 650 and 750 model both use the M12F-Z.
The Focus Plus reviews show use of the H12F-Z fan in each model.

It’s also interestingly seeing a different brand cap and different fets in the F14Lab review. Perhaps that’s to do with location?

    That's normal.
Even in the Delta DPS-500QB, I have mostly Nichicon in mine, Moritz in his Review had mostly Nippon Chemicon.

Same with the G-Series I have/had, one has Nichicon, others have Nippon Chemicon.

Might be the same with the Caps and other stuff as well...

With fans, Like I said: The cabled one only goes up to 750W, the non cabled one up to 1000W....
