    Default Corsair parts only

ebay seems to have a lot of bust Corsair power supplies (in some cases 'more than 10 available')

    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sop...p2045573.m1684

Anyone know if there is a common mode of failure and if they are easily fixed? then again the modular units are without cables. I wonder how many are still under warrantee.

At those prices I am surprised Corsair themselves don't broker a deal; no comment on Corsair, as I imagine they are not the manufacturer.

    No, not easily fixable.

And some of those are ancient (HX650 for example).

And some of them should still be in Warranty, I wonder why they didn't RMA it. Probably because they were doin some stupid shit with it - like replacing the original fan and connecting the replacement to the Motherboard...

Also I wonder why they only show the back of the PSU but not the fan side. Probably because you would see that they did shit like that...
And that they may be burned due to that as well.

    €dit:
    That RM750 as well.
Should have 5 Years Warranty or so. ANd was released at the end of 2013.
    2013 + 5 = 2018.
So should be still in warranty. Suspicious that is...

But one doesn't do 'stupid stuff' on almost 400 units...

    there are

25 HX650 units in one auction
    20 in another auction
    40 CX750M
    30 TX750 in one auction
    24 in another
    60 in another
    30 HX750
    30 HX850
    75 AX750
    60 AX850

there is a hint in the RM750 review

    "
    not what it seams
the item was sold as untested but when i looked at it i could see it had been worked on before and had missing parts from inside it i know i bought it for parts not working but I did exspect it to have all its insides in it

A lot of times large resellers simply count their customer returns and are then given a credit for them to use towards their next order (given the rate is less than 2%). They're then supposed to dispose of the returns, but it seems as if someone is salvaging them instead.

In Taiwan, they smash the units with hammers and spray random spray paint all over the units. Clearly they don't do that where these units come from.

I used to work for a company that did the same thing. We would buy lots of returns from Circuit City and Best Buy and then sell the items on eBay. Difference is, we would test everything and only sell working products. If it didn't work, then we would save it for parts to fix the next similar product. That was my job. :-)

The HX750 in the picture looks pretty beat up. Like someone took it and swung it over their head hitting stuff in the process.
