    Default Bitfenix Formula Airflow Question

Hi, I've been at the bitfenix site and there's an image in the gallery that shows cold air intake from the bottom and exhaust for the back.

Is that image a real representation? I don't so because of the fan on top that seems to be the intake. And in the image the air enters from the bottom and not from the top.

Do you have a URL link? I can't seem to find what you're talking about.

In that image, the fan is on the bottom. So the air enters from the bottom.

But how, in the reviews the fan is on top, not on the bottom. I use the sticker as a point for bottom and top.

You are a bit confused about how PSUs are mounted. The fan can be either positioned at the top or the bottom. In the case of a PSU without passive mode, it must be facing down. In a PSU with semi-passive mode, it depends. In a fully passive mode, always facing up.

There are some Formula units with reversed stickers, so if you mount it with the fan facing down it's inverse. But that's not a problem...

So if my formula comes with a top mounted fan, will this one be intake or exhaust?

So a formula 450w will have a top mounted or bottom mounted fan?

Will the exhaust be at the back of the unit?

The exhaust would be always at the back on the unit, no matter if is top mounted or bottom mounted (wich depends of the position of the PSU) because the fan take the fresh air from outside for cooling down the PSU components and exhaust it behind.

    You still don't get it.

The fan is in intake. You can mount it either fan up or fan down. The PSU doesn't care. The design of the CASE dictates whether you mount it fan up or fan down.

Your Formula doesn't come top or bottom mounted because the layout allows you to mount it in both positions.

I get it, so the formula comes with 1 fan, which is intake, right?
