Default How much better is a Maglev Fan vs a FDB or Sleeve fan?

Hi, How much better (or worse) is a Maglev Fan vs other bearing types?

I've heard that the Maglev is just a modified sleeve bearing, is this true?

How much durable is a Maglev Fan?

Jonny, you work at corsair right? You're from the psu division, so I don't know if you have a vast knowledge about the corsair fans, but if you do, how much are the ml120 (non pros) better than sleve? Are they more durable?

How do they compare to Fluid Dynamic Fans?

I was asking because I was planning on buying eloops which have are fdb has case fans but 20 euros for just one fan seems expensive, I can get the ml120 for 14 each. I don't care about noise, I just need them to be durable.

NoiseBlocker eLoop fans don't have Fluid Dynamic Bearings; that's a misconception led by their marketing.

Corsair's ML Fans are a lot better. The only downside they really have is that Corsair took a more "balanced" approach to the blade design so they don't excel in either static pressure or raw airflow. Thus they're out performed in radiator use by static pressure optimized fans, as well as case exhaust use by airflow optimized fans.

In my opinion though, I think Corsair took the right approach to the design of the ML series as we do not have many high-fin-density radiators on the market (or heatsinks) so a static pressure design isn't necessarily the best for most users applications. At least for component cooling.
On the other hand, they're also not a bad option for case fans at the moment since most cases have restrictive front intakes using solid panels and a combined dust filter. These setups can easily choke more airflow optimized fans and hamper their ability to effectively move air into the case.

So which bearing do they have?

I've also heard that the Maglve is a name for a slightly modified sleeve and that's not different from one.

So can you recommend any cheap fdp fan or ball bearing? It needs to cost less than 15 euros and can be a little loud, not too loud, but as little bit.

You can check the prices here https://www.kuantokusta.pt/informati...-Caixas?sort=3

    Thanks

Corsair? They have proper MagLev bearings.

That's not even remotely close to accurate. Fluid Dynamic, Ball, Sleeve, Rifle, and other sleeve variant bearings all have some friction contact that is alleviated by a lubricant being used. MagLev designs have no parts that are making contact with one another.

If you can get the Corsair ML120's for 14 euro each, that's within your budget and a good option and I would just go with that.

No, I mean the eloop's bearing.

Is maglev better than fdb or ball bearing?

I was asking to you check the link, because there could be something better for the price.

Don't forget that people who have the eloops say that they are shit if the top is obstructed. So they are only good as a blower.
