CXm V2 2017 edition appears? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JFc...-cp-9020154-na
Is this finally an LLC update? Not sure there's much else to really do with the CXm (Perhaps lower ripple a little).
Just some nerd from 'Straya
You know that it is 2019 right?![]()
still dual forward
It's nothing. Someone's idea of a joke? CX-M has not been updated. I was at Corsair in 2017 and don't recall refreshing CX-M.
EDIT: IIRC I think this was channel marketing's way to differentiate a newer revision of CX-M 750W and 850W from a previous revision. The PSU is the same. I seem to remember having to change the controller IC for the DC to DC. There were some field failure issues with the original IC. While we were at it, we replaced the Vishay FETs with Infineon FETs because they were around the same cost. Nothing ground breaking. Nothing any customer would give two shits about. I believe Newegg wanted a new part number created as a temporary solution to differentiate and "clean" the old inventory, but after a particular date code, ALL CX-M (noted as 2017 or not) have the updated DC to DC card in them. In other words, once all "pre-2017" inventory was gone, they went back to the old part number, but with the newer parts.

Half-Bridge & LLC converter with Synchronous Rectification & DC-DC converters even. I guess to pass those low load efficiency requirements.
