    They would be mediocre if they had a 14pin Supervisior with OCP on all rails and UVP as well as OTP.
    The S12II-Bronze basis is the cheapest of the cheap looking, regardless of component choice or tuning, it can't be good because essential features - such as OTP or OCP are not implemented in that PCB design.

    Mediocre would be a decent, DC-DC design, wich should be standard.

    S12II-Bronze is group regulated with lacking protections. That's the buttom of the barrel. Group Regulated with working protection would be less than mediocre but better than Group Regulated without OCP and even UVP on 12V...

    Agree. S12II is not that far from trash. People still think that Seasonic + Jap caps count for much, but it doesnt.

    A better design plus lower tier caps > worse design with higher tier caps.

    Nowadays pretty much even the mid-market OEMs can produce on pair or better than Seasonic, if they are contracted to.
