    Default Apevia New PSU ?

Apevia released a new power supply , i don't know who makes it though.Sirfa?

No active pfc, probably passive or none at all (the latter obviously). And seems to be a #1 New Release one Amazon...

why are these things being made in 2017, maybe in 2004... but

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...f_rd_i=1161760

people are leaving great reviews, and putting their hardware at risk...You don't know how many times i get ridiculed because i recommend good power supplies to people instead of the cheap ones..

yep most were over rated crap, some made a attempt...to be average..

still idk how can this be a best seller but people i work on the computers i repair with say my Antec HCG or corsair CX is too expensive and too much.

oh and its L&C power LC power is some other company...

my l&c power (deer?) lasted for a long time and came included in a case, idk how it lasted that long...

I mean, you laugh, but EVGA (N1 400w), Antec (Basiq BP350), Thermaltake (Litepower 600w), & Cooler Master (Elite V2 550w) both actively sell units without PFC in the US.
These are units that are also readily available on retail shelves.

Besides EVGA; those other units are still advertised on their respective manufacturers websites. In 2017.

Plus in the US non-industrial places like homes aren't charged anyway when there's poor PFC.

No, I mean German LC-Power aka Silent Power Electronics GmbH...

They also have/had some OKish units but also some not so OKish units that are totally overrated...

Power Companys still needs to generate the power for that bad Powerfactor...

If millions of people had no PFC, how many nuclear power plants do you need more than with PFC in every decent device??

That is why the power plant industry created and sponsored 80 PLUS with 5 USD promo per unit sold to get the public in the USA moving against the appliances industry, who does not want PFC requirements. This way they made a huge profit from the same amount of power plants.
PF from 0.5 to > 0.9 for the loss of efficiency from 0.6 to 0.8 (20 per centage points profit increase after the promo expenses, which they stopped soon after 80 PLUS got rolling and into Energy Star.) So the nuclear power plant owners can calculate well enough that giving a little can get you a lot more in return
And yes, end users, do not pay for blind power in eg USA or Germany, but do pay in eg France and India.

Hilarious read recomendation: The Energy Star stakeholders draft comments on first 80 PLUS implementation. Sony, HP, GE, etc. all "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
