Default Should I use Antec Earthwatts 380 or buy a new budget psu?

Hey guys, great sites. I've been building computers for a long time and have used the reviews on this site to gauge whether or not I should use a power supply in builds I have done for friends/organizations.

There has been a lot of great budget hardware coming out lately and I have been entertaining the thought of building a computer for gaming/data work. The system would be built around a Geforce GTX1050ti and either an Intel Kabylake 4560 or Ryzen 1600/1700 (I know very different CPUs). I NEVER over clock my cpu and the system would be a single mechanical hard drive system. I'll probably a solid state drive later. There probably will be 2 sticks of DDR4 2133 or 2400 in the computer. My target price point for motherboard is about 75$ so either B350 Chipsets or Intel B250 chipset.

I am a graduate student, and I want to keep this build as cost effective is possible. I have an spare Antec Earthwatts 380 power supply (Seasonic?). I was wondering if this would be adequate for my purposes ? Otherwise I was going to pick up a budget psu like the evga White 430 (HEC).

I don't particularly care for things like modularity, and the most important consideration to me is overall reliability/safety of unit. Total cost of the whole computer is more important than the effect on the power bill.

The Antec Earthwatts Green 380 is a Delta OEM build, Delta is very good, and i have used them in budget builds with no problem. However i'm not sure if 380 watts will be enough if you decide to overclock or add more in the future.

    EVGA 430

you can try something like this.

    or

    80+ bronze is still good.

Of course this is my opinion,i would have chosen it. the rest of the group know a hell of a lot more about this than i do and jonny, master wolf,of course

Its a newer one, I think. The unit is a EA380D Green. I have built something like 30 computers over the last 15 years and never overclocked one. I don't see myself changing my mind on that anytime soon. I'm not a bench marker. I just want a reliable, bank for your buck pc.

The newer ones are Delta's. The EA380D Green is also a Delta. But how old is yours?

I don't 100% recall. If I had to guess its about 5 years old, though it only saw use for about 1-2 years. That computers hard disk failed and has basically been sitting in the corner of the living room for 2 years. I looked at the PSU and there was a number on it that began with DT so I'm assuming the DT = Delta?

He has a Delta-made one, just try it, if it dies one day, buy a new one. It has protections to not kill your system.
