Four +12 V wires and four grounds? I think you're mixing with the CPU power connector. PCI-E are three +12 V wires and five grounds.
The way they ground the second connector on those cables is bizarre, BTW (and given its price, unjustifiable).
Edit: also there's way to have five grounds even on the PCI-E first connector. Since they made those D-connectors on the PSU interchangeable with CPU power connectors, those connectors on the PSU side should have four three +12 V and four grounds. So, it lacks one ground for the PCI-E connector, they just get the missing grounds on the PCI-E connector connecting from one of the other three grounds. This is the disadvantage of doing those connectors interchangeable.
