I've only seen them once before, they came default with a case I think. It's been a few years though, and just happened to be one of those moments where someone sent me a photo and said "what do you think about this fan?"

I am from mexico and the 450 and 650 W models are being sold for very cheap so there is a chance you can see them in the US too.

Linus says it's tier 2 but having seen the chinese article as well as the webpage the answer is no, it doesn't even come close

rated at 40C rather than 50C

    no 100% jap capacitors

Linus himself says nothing, that's the LTT tier list you are talking about. And given the platform it's using, I can certainly see a "T2" being justifiable...

Doesn't really matter, 40c is already enough for 99.99% of users (Unless you live in India/Aus etc and don't have any aircon)

Again, mostly irrelevant, there are plenty of "T1" or "T2" Units with less than 100% "Japanese" Capacitors

Unless it's a sleeve bearing it doesn't affect it's scoring much (if at all).

Don't overrate Tier Lists. They are at most something that points you in a direction but nothing to take too serious.
Especially if you see Seasonic S12II/M12II at the Top. Then you can discard the List as shit in the First Place.

The Problem is the Bias and that many PSU aren't tested, some things are overrated, others are underrated.

For a PSU, you want good, working protections first. Everything else comes second.
Electrical performance isn't actually important, as long as its "well withing Spec"; if you have a ,25% 1,5 or 3% Voltage Regulation isn't something you or your hardware will ever notice.
If the fan spins at 500rpm idle or 1200rpm is something you will notice as well as under more load. That is something that is not looked at in this List, although it is pretty important for many people.

    Yeah, and?
Do you want to use it at a 50°C Enviroment??

Wapanese because Wannabe Japanese because made in CHINA!
And with that its entirely possible that it comes out of the same factory as Chinese Caps.

Also this statement is a bit in the racist directory because it implys that Chinese or Taiwanese people (or Companys) can't do quality components.
If you look at the Datasheet of the Nippon KZE that is rather common in PSU and compare those to Teapo SC; you'll see that the Lifetime of the Nippon KZE is, according to the Spec Sheet, double of the Nippon cap.
And also you could get Teapo SY (a bit over that) from a rather expensive parts dealer (Conrad.de) for around half the price of a similar Japanese one from Mouser (without Tax listed)..
But that's something most people also overlook: The Price of the Component. That a more expensive Part should be better, should be expected, shouldn't it?

When in fact they do, if you pay for it of course...

And here is the Problem with the Caps:
The bad name comes from 15 Years ago, when Entry Level Low ESR Caps were used on Motherboards.

And the comparisation between lower end Chinese and higher End (=more expensive) ones from Japanese Companys...

    Also:
If a non Japanese Cap fails, its the Companys fault.
If a Japanese Cap fails, its not the Companys fault, its at best a bad series...

Those tier lists at LTT and Tom's forums are definately not flawless, yeah.

I like to think the one at LTT is just a little better than the one at Toms, if only because it's both kept updated and doesn't over-glorify to GB Bronze Series.

Yes, but the Seasonic case took some convincing, and a couple of pages of discussion to get them down in the direction where they deserve to be...

And sadly it doesn't seem like Seasonic wants to replace this almost 10 Year old thing....
