Post SAMA Armor 550/650/750W spotted on Newegg

I've spotted three fully-modular 80 PLUS Gold SAMA PSUs on Newegg.

    550W - Newegg - 80 PLUS Report PDF.
    650W - Newegg - 80 PLUS Report PDF.
    750W - Newegg - 80 PLUS Report PDF.

    Here's a teardown of the 550W @ coolpc.tw

    Thoughts?

Pricing looks good, but I don't know much about the quality. We'll see if they provide review samples for US based reviewers.

The layout seems strange. On the first look I'd have said a regular non-modular design turned by 90 degree to get it fully modular and mostly wireless, however this is not the case if you look at the size. They specifically decided to do it like this. I don't know how good the airflow works with the big heatsink standing in it's way.

Yup, it's a SAMA. While I'm no expert by any means, their platforms always seem intriguing. Indeed an underrated OEM. Would love them to get picked up instead of Enhance or Sirfa by smaller manufacturers. Do you have any clue how is their factory and what's their manufacturing capacity?

OW complained about the heatsink in the 800W Titanium review, but seems SAMA knows what they're doing as it didn't really affect the cooling much. These are Gold, so two notches down in efficiency and that means more heat. We'll have to see.

Pricing looks excellent - especially in Canada, if they preform well they can put a blow to the EVGA monopoly here.... Too bad people would probably still buy EVGA just because evga.

But inside looks excellent. Strange design but sometimes simpler is better Only thing is that it looks like it's rated for 40C continious operation instead of 50?

Yeah, they will. Slap EVGA on it and... 3... 2... 1... Out of stock *sigh*.

PS. You've successfully triggered my OCD meter.

Their Forza Gold counterparts are rated for 40C (just look at their boxes) but the 800W Forza Titanium is rated for 50C.

Would be nice if the warranty was much longer as well

Edit: google translated a phrase from pcdiy.com.tw:
    http://www.pcdiy.com.tw/detail/5110
As Bertone exclusive agent, enjoy five-year warranty, two-year renewal of the quick-change service

As a result, the SAMA ARMOR series of power supply products into the "five-year warranty, two-year renewal," the quick-change service, and the introduction of new products and services, With the rapid distribution of 10 Taiwan-based point-in-point collaborative work, as long as eligible for quick change conditions, you can immediately renew, so that players are happy to play GAME without interruption.
So 5 year warranty? But does SAMA even have RMA centers this side of the world?

I'm afraid it's only 1 year worldwide (2 in the EU if it's even available). SAMA does not have any real presence outside their domestic market AFAIK. I could be wrong but I don't think I am.

In China however they are very big. I'd even say they are the market leader for retail PSU there.

Probably not. More likely Great Wall and Huntkey are.
