Arrow EVGA Supernova G3 1000W Review

It's that time again - yet another brand new to the market product is gracing us with its presence. EVGA is freshening up their top of the line units with the G3 series in an effort to further dominate the market. But it's easy to sit back and say, "This power supply is from such and such company, and they're always good." We're here today with the one kilowatt model to make sure that EVGA's new hotness really is worth our time.

I'm 100% sure G2 has Eco mode allowing it to run without fan spinning.

The fan in this unit is a H1282412H. Sticker says H1282412H DC 12V 0.35A HDB.

Did you even click on the fan pic?

Ugh, those in-cable capacitors have got to go. They were a kludge to start with and they're no better now.

Meanwhile, Corsair's more than 2 year old AX1500i looks over lazily from it's throne of capacitor-free cables and raises one whole eyebrow...

    Man that platform's bonkers...

So do the Seasonic primes as well

But holy s*** EVGA and superflower really pulled one out of the hat here, watch out seasonic, your primes will be facing dangerous competition when the T3 comes out

I'm just still blown that the AX1500i's over 2 year-old platform keeps up so well. Really wondering what Corsair will pull to replace it... 0.00x% regulation with <6mV ripple? I mean, one can dream, right?

EDIT: also, no in cable caps. Meanwhile the PRIMEs are shiny new platforms...
