Question Anything new in the lower (550w or less) power range?

Y'all helped me out with picking out my last PSU, the RM550x, and I've been pleased with it so I thought I'd ask for more suggestions for an upcoming build.

This one will be even lower power. The 4690k + 750Ti are the biggest draws, so yeah basically nothing (~256W TDP ).

I'd like something modular again, of course, but I'm just wondering if something else has released that provides less power for around the same price or less? The RM450 is all but gone too.

Am I still looking at another RM550x?

    Thanks again!

There's a 450w bitfenix whisper if you are interested.

Hmmm...availability looks kinda scarce. Must be really new. I do like the looks of it though.

The RM550x I get for $69.99 (after stupid rebate, but I got it last time no problem) USD right now. I may just go with that.

Another strong contender in the ~550w market is the EVGA SuperNova G3 550w. It's a more compact unit than the RM550x with a better fan (HDB vs Rifle Bearing), but giving relatively equal performance.

I might've given it a try if it were cheaper I think. The RM550x is a good bit less.

Still, good to know there is something else out there I can recommend. The smaller size is appealing, but I honestly don't think the fan counts for too much. My RM550x only rarely spins up, usually only during startup - but then again that's overkill for ya.
