I know you all (you, Mask, ridgid) don't meant to offend, nonetheless it's pointless, and potentially harmful, criticizing something about which the OP didn't asked any advice, isn't it?

I guess that some parts may have been added in subsequent moments (most notably the freshly released 1060, but maybe the expensive RAM also), and anyway that doesn't affect how crappy the Chieftec PSU is.

About the quoted Microflop's review, I guess that, albeit somewhat crappy, the Xilence Performance A+ 530W (XP530R8), the two be quiet System 7 400W (BN142) and Pure Power L8 400W (BN 222) might be less crappy than that Chieftec for a comparable amount of money, comparable at least in EU (please note, OP: no one is really compatible with Kaby Lake low power states, but that's a minor issue). Said that, frankly I wouldn't buy them (as the minimum wage could be something like Antec Neo ECO II 450, Antec VPF450 Bronze, Cooler Master G450M, Cooler Master GX 500 Storm Edition, Corsair CX450M, Corsair Vengeance 400, and so on), and I don't even know if those three units are available there in Bosnia and at which price... may you recall any further cheap but somehow suitable unit, Orion?

Thanks, I stand corrected, I didn't checked Nico's technical analysis.

My sister's rig is also a mish-mash of pieces of hardware that seem like a bad combination. Much because of the reasons you state. It started out with a low cost upgrade, then "higher end" components were put in at different points in later time. All this because of lack of funds, mostly. I guess OP is in that situation too.

    Rig 1: Core i5 6600K - Asus Z170 Pro Gaming - Corsair Vengeance 16GB PC2666 RAM - MSI GeForce GTX1070 - Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSD + 2TB Seagate SSHD - Corsair RM550x - Fractal Design R5 - Win10 64

    Rig 2: Ryzen 1700X @ 3.9 GHz - Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5 - Corsair LPX 16GB PC3200 RAM - Gigabyte GeForce 1070 - 250GB Samsung EVO 850 SSD - Corsair RM650i - Win10 64
    HTPC: AMD A6-6400k - MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 mITX - 8GB Kingston HyperX 1866MHz - 3.5TB storage - Silver Power 460W passive - CM Elite 120
