    Default Need Advice

    Hi all,

I am new to the forum and would like to ask a question.

I have recently purchased a ACER u5-620 all-in one PC and have used 2 surge protectors (Extensions ) to connect it to power supply as the wall outlet is very far.
Last Week I started hearing some noises from behind the unit.I don't think its anything serious but I doubt if it has anything to do with the power supply.

Can anyone advise me regarding the issue?

It may likely be some form of electronic noise, usually referred as coil whine. That kind of noise can be PSU related, albeit I guess your AIO uses some AC-DC brick, doesn't it?

BTW. it would be nice if you may record a small video about what you hear.

Yeah. The Acer AIO uses a power brick, so it's not the PSU.

That's not to say the PSU isn't causing it. It's a standard 135W 19V brick. You can try a different one to see if the noise goes away.

Mice. If you were in the normal part of the Northern hemisphere I would say the mice are bulding nests for the winter. Since you're in the UAE, it's got to be giant spiders, in from the desert.
