There's one point for the caps here, period.

That's literally what I said, you just restated it.

That's what I wanted: making the adverb "usually" more explicit.

Sorry to have to point this out, Tazz, but you completely missed the mark at disassembly...

Those rectifiers on the secondary are all Schottky Barrier Rectifiers in TO-220AB packaging, models MBR3045CT, MBR20100CT and MBR30100CT. Those are 30A/45V max reverse voltage, 20A/100V reverse voltage and 30A/100V ones. The nominal max forward drop per standard spec is 0.62-0.85V depending on the model, but I don't know the actual manufacturer Raidmax/Andyson used here. The markings say "HS" but unfortunately I have no idea who that stands for.

Anyway, I actually recapped one of these a while ago and also swapped out those SBRs (or rather MBRs) for better ones (lower V-drop, higher max amperage), and it actually performed noticeably better. Well, as far as I could test, at least, the regulation was 1.5 - 1.8% (in absolute terms) tighter than your review results across the board.

Anyway, nice review but I'm too anally retentive to let a mistake go by uncorrected

    Sorry

    ## EDIT ##

Oh, and for those interested, one MBR3040CT per 3V3 and 5V rails, two MBR20100CTs for direct rectification of 12V and two MBR30100CTs for freewheeling.
Don't let 40A max on 12V fool you, those SBRs are working at around 40V, the coil brings that down to ~12V, so 40A at 40V is plenty.
Careful what you wish for... You just might get it.

So how are these caps in terms of the spec sheets? Brand bias aside, pretend they're Teapo for a moment, are they good or bad?

Well, going by their spec sheet, JunFu WG are about on par with Teapo SC... Or they would be, if the spec sheet was not a fantasy and JunFu's QC team actually existed.

Still, you get what you pay for with these kinds of PSUs.

Maybe I should visit Jun Fu's factory on my next visit to China.

Folks, we have here the first Tacens Radix VII AG and Valeo V review. Yes. Exactly like them, or at least it seems.

I wouldn't recommend this PSU because of
    - crap fan
    - crap caps
    - crappy protection IC
    - mediocre voltage regulation

    ...
