Default Display Date Format Option on Forum

    Hello

Unless I'm being an absolute dork, I can't see an option to change the format of the date that a post was made.

Currently it's set to the American mm-dd-yyy format which, often, when I see I have to stop myself going "Whaaaat?" and remind myself that values like '04-11-2016' are actually 11 April 2016 and not 04 November 2016 since it hasn't come yet. I would prefer to set my date format to yyyy-mm-dd instead, but the UCP's "Date & Time" section only has options for Time Zone and Start of the Week.

I did a search on the forums for "display date" and "date format" and nothing relevant came up. Is this the first time that the issue is being raised?

    Thank you

You mean mm-dd-yyyy. That's American format.

Not sure if that's even an option in vB. Maybe a plug in? This is one for Tazz.

Well it's mm-dd-yyyy as Jon stated, other than the minutes, hours, days ago...

Although I have the ability to alter the date format on the sites end of it. Unfortunately, there isn't an option for the users to edit it on their end.

"dd-mm-yyyy" was a typo, sorry guys. I meant month first. I fixed it in my post.

Is there a way to enable that functionality for us users please Tazz?

And hey, it can't be that hard to convert the date, knowing exactly which format it's in now...

If the notation was inconsistent across the forum that would be a problem for sure. But simply placing the year in front of the month and day to get the format you're asking for should be quite doable on-the-fly in your head. What's a bit of mental gymnastics in this age of instant gratification, huh?
Careful what you wish for... You just might get it.

Thanks Jonny. I understood "there isn't an option for the users to edit it on their end" as not excluding the possibility of that option being enabled. You have to understand, I'm an optimist. :-)

Sorry for the delay. When I said there was no option, that's exactly the case. Disabled or not, it doesn't exist that I can find (even as a mod).

McSteel is 100% dead on with the statement, if they are inconsistent it would create issues within the forums itself.
