Default Corsair RM550x VS xfx xts 520W

    Hello !!

I need to buy a power supply, and after much reading I am determined between these two ..

What is better ?, in my country (Spain) the price is almost equal (100€)

    Thanks and regards!!

It's basically a coin toss between the two, both are well-performing, high-quality units. The Corsair has a longer warranty, but the XFX has more PCIe cables/connectors and is completely silent, so I'd give it a slight edge if the price is the same.

Then again, I'd most likely bodge on a very silent fan onto it at some point, especially if I were to put both PCIe cables to use. But that's just me.
Careful what you wish for... You just might get it.

RMX beats it in pretty much everything.

I would consider the XTS - no fan is one less point of failure, but then the caps will get more heat. Depends on what you're planning to power with it? The RMx will essentially be fanless too in a wide range of load levels.

It shouldn't (cannot) be (unless you got a special offer on the XTS fanless).
    Best, Luca

Thank you very much to you both !!!

By the way, the PC case has "PSU cover", Is it bad for XTS (no fan)?http://benchmarkreviews.com/wp-conte...-PSU-cover.jpg

Orion> The power supply is for a PC gamer (i5 4690k and GTX 970)

The fanless XFX is certainly not a smart move with a PSU cover like that, I would go for the RM550x.

It is because hot air rises and with that cover it can't escape, right?
