    Default Brief me on a couple things...

    Like the title says, I need a little knowledge

    I am going to sleeve my 850w Zeus. I have sleeved many things before - I am familiar with the Chinese-handcuff style material and with using a heat gun for the shrink. However, I have never sleeved a PSU. So, I need something to remove the wires from the 6pin PCI cables, the 24 pin main cable, and such.

    Would this be my remedy?

    If so, nothing problematic about that, but I want to know a couple things:

    My questions:

    A. First of all, will painting some of the wires white/gray void my warranty?

    B. What do the wire colors represent?
    From what I have seen, I can guess that

    Yellow = +12v rail
    Red = +5v rail
    Black = ground

    Is this correct? I want to SPRAYPAINT the yellow and red wires white and gray respectively. (before sleeving them) And yes, I will keep track of which ones go where.

    Thanks in advance

    This is what you want/need. http://www.jab-tech.com/20-pin-24pin....-pr-2290.html
    Kinda tricky to use, so practice on an old connection first.

    I hope you plan on using vinyl spray paint and de-oil the wires with a stong solvent. If I sold you the PSU, the warrenty would be voided by painting the wiring.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Yeah I intend to test it on my old 200w psu.

    Right, so the paint does not chip off onto my stuff.

    heh? if you sold me the PSU?

    Welcome to the forum.
    Thanks, I read a bunch of Johnny's reviews and other reviews and made my decision on the 850w Zeus. Its just that it is cabled and shrinked so crappily!!..

    EDIT one last thing:
    Judging by this guide: http://www.gam.net.au/pcmods/satapower/2.html
    My S/ATA cables are the "Moulded" type, not the "self crimping." So I would have to cut off the black plastic connections?
