At work I've got Cherry Brown, at home I've got Cherry Red. I like the Red actualkkly a little better but I'm happy the company provides high end machanical keyboards at all. Anyway, the first thousand characters after switching typo rate is higher than usual.

Have you guys tried cherry mx greens? They are so nice . Browns are good for gaming, greens are just God for typing.

I love those cheapass Power Supplys
always keep them in many pieces, you never know what you may need.
besides the main PCB of course

So if you can pick some of them up for (almost) nothing and need some parts, they can be worth it

Of course you shuld have a desoldering gun...

Besides that, those cheapish, overlabeled units don't have any purpose at all.

I used my old Logitech keyboard at home for 12 years until it was not working peroperly any more. I probably won't replace my mechanical keyboard in this quarter of the century

I've tried black, red, brown, clear, blue, and green. The best setup I've found so far for my mostly-typing workload is blue with WASD's red O-rings.

My impressions of the various switches, FWIW, are as follows:

Red: I could see it being good for gaming. The lack of any feedback whatsoever makes it horrible to type on.
    Black: Same as red.
Brown: Feels so much like red that it might as well be red.
Clear: Feels okay to type on. Even better with the spring from a red.
    Blue: My favorite.
Green: A bit too stiff for me.

Cherry MX Clear is the only way to go. Panda's are also accepted.
