I don't buy this second revision thing, sounds like Zalman was just buying time and hoping to not have too many potential buyers discouraged with another negative review.

It just comes down to another case of a company (Zalman) trusting an ODM too much (Sirfa) and not having the resources to confirm the quality of the product before sending it out into the wild.

This hold-up time thing seems to be either shared bug in many Astro platforms, or deliberate thing. I am not going to call this any "nasty tricks" as it may just be a problem in the platform, not created intentionally. (but than you can ask why they have not repaired it yet?) Anyway, it is shared in most of the higher-powered versions, no matter the brand the platforms ends in, at least according to more Arises reviews…

And that overheating till smelling/burning, yeah, this should have definitelly be tested. Every product should be always tested in the worst possible conditions to at least see what it does (and OFC if possible than improve it). Than many of these brands may have much less strange RMA's.

rafal_iB_PL: Judging by the fact many of these new models launched by the end of 2015 (esp. GVM) are not yet in Europe, I think they really have some serieóus problems selling it…and yeah, as for this ZM750-EBT, they managed to get it to the market before the reviews, so that would make sense.

I'm no sales expert, but IMO they really should streamline their lineup to clear entry level, mid range, high-end series and not just randomly throw them one by one all over the place, like they've been doing for a while.

Ummm..... Any PSU factory with proper test equipment (which, I believe Sirfa has), would also see this issue and not assume that this is proper hold up time.

Someone should try and get a hold of someone at Sirfa and ask what's up.

    My thoughts exactly !!
( Except of course if Sirfa doesn't have the proper testing equipment for their own hardware!! On either case, this makes them dangerous for the customers.)

Why you wrote worse voltage regulation in the Conclusion? its look o.k. while psu is in rated power.

According to my requirements/methodology, the results are good for mainstream, but somewhat failing to be actually high-end. There are competitive units in that segment with FAR better regulation. That's why I only said worse, not bad , as that would be worse than "worse"

So what about a different term, such as "mediocre" (just for instance)?
