Default Is it possible to make a comprehensive/honest tier list?

    Been working on this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

    Thoughts?

I've been using Orion's database as a reference. Expanding out to nine tiers for better differentiation between units and judged tier on platform reputation, component quality, etc.

Known platforms are links to Orion's website. Links on right are links to reviews on jonnyguru.com. If multiple wattages are reviewed, the review linked is the one with the lowest score.

Feel free to criticize where I put certain units. I'm open to suggestions as this is a work in progress.

Next I will add Fractal, Kuroutoshikou, OCZ and Rosewill. After that, I'm just going to go down the list and add brands as I have time.

    Thanks!

Suggestion: Cut back on units that are no-longer available.

Unit's like the Antec CP series are neat for us nerds; but not really relevant at all to this kinda list. As a tier represents quality, and what was top-quality 5 years ago is not top quality today. That's just the way of technology.

Second suggestion: maybe open the doc up to contributors? I'm pretty sure you can have revisions get final authorization from the primary account but it may help with filling in some detail specs that you're missing.
Like the BeQuiet DPP P10 850 & 1000w units are rated at 40C, you have them marked as "??." That's just basic information that can be added if someone has the time to do the digging on specs.

Why XFX TS gold is tier 2 and antec TPC is tier 3? they're both seasonic G and even xfx seems to have higher ripple. Is it because xfx has FDB fan?

Good catch. Just re-read both reviews and can't see why they shouldn't both be "2" other than the FDB fan.

Thank you for your time making the list, it will be very helpful for sure!

Dont forget about the new Antec VPF units (Delta, 40º, DC-DC, 3y warranty).

If i may suggest, as a complementary, you could do some "Best units for price range" table.

Big unknown until someone reviews it.

Another suggestion: Since some companies are not being properly upfront about their Haswell compatibility, add a column for "true Haswell compatibly"

I'm not sure Haswell compatibility warrants any consideration at all
Careful what you wish for... You just might get it.
