    Default Thermaltake Toughpower DPS G 650W Review @ [H]

The Thermaltake Toughpower DPS G 650W is a new PSU that heralds monitoring electricity cost, recording the status of your PC, and sharing that data in the cloud as its main features. All of that is great if that is what you are into, but as usual we first want to know how good of a PSU is it?

Nice to finally see CSC in action.

    By the way:

    That's new, I guess.

That single Capxon GF must feel so lonely, surrounded by foreign strangers and with no other Capxons anywhere else at all.

Though not that great outcome, at least according to Spectre, is it?

Very similar to HXi/RMi or just the same plate form?

I'd say rather different: different platform, different performances.

Different platform. HXi, RMi, & RMx all are Corsair custom designs that were made by CWT. Superficially they look similar, and incorporate some of the same tech but they'd be mere cousins if anything. A primary difference that's easy to spot is Corsair's solution was designed to have digital monitoring from the outset, while CWT design has the digital monitoring as an after thought.

The CSC design is a less expensive design and meant to be more of a mid-range solution.

Biggest issue with this guy comes down to price. Had it come out at $120-130 MSRP it would have been at least semi-competitive but currently that price is far too high considering you can get an X650 KM3 for $110 or an RMi 650 for $130 just about anywhere online.

both TT DSP and RMi/HXi don't have digital monitoring on primary side

Yes, but if you observe how Corsair implemented digital on their design; it was designed to be a modular component of the design while the CWT / TT unit has it forced in with them using that CSH Modular board.

As I said above, both designs share similar traits & technology but they're not that similar.
