One thing I would know if that you can easily change that break out board otherwise it's really impossible to load it with more then ~1000W without having some serious voltage drop and hot connectors.

The breakout board on the picture seems to be ready for 2 extra 8 Pin connectors. Since I have native Chinese collegues I probably could order a version with two more conenctors. Such products are usualyl hand made and can be modified for reasonable cost, if you can explain the modifcation in a way they can understand. Still, I'm too much of a coward to order programmable loads from a brand I don't know.

if you buy a sm-8800 brand new from sunmoon they will give you extra 01pcs breakboard and 02pcs power mosfet ( irfz250)
i have check 8800 and modify tr368. both have same type .it dont measure current real time like luxury chroma . so and after some years working it need calibration if you want high accurate.

    Correct.

SM-8800 comes with quite the impressive "repair kit".

It was the same back in the day for the 5500. Unfortunately the company went out of business.

    Hello!
Just got brand new SM-8800 v4.03 from SunMoon and can't connect it to my Fujitsu E6555 laptop running under WinXP SP3.
Yes, my laptop is pretty old but coeval to SM-8800 development date and should be quite good for such task, I guess - PIII-650/512Mb, native COM-port.
SunMoon's Software is v2.01. There are different errors when start test, depend on the settings, please take a look at the attached pics.
USB watchdog is installed, the 8800 is in computer controlled mode (AUTO led is blinking).
What am I doing wrong? Any hints how to?
    Thanks!
