Default Power supply tier list from toms

I've seen this updated recommended psu list being referenced and was wondering if its a good one, and if the ranking criteria is useful.

I've searched and found an old discussion about this list-

Here's the consensus here on it and all other list: http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12558
Some other "tier" list you may end up seeing are from Reddit (looks like a copy and paste version of Tom's older list) and LTT

As long as it's commonplace for people to seek instant gratification, shit like the tier lists is and will be inevitable and unavoidable.
Careful what you wish for... You just might get it.

Why don't you tell us the application, the budget, your location and feature criteria (quiet, efficient, modular, etc.) and we can help you make an educated choice instead of spoon feeding you a bunch of fan boy garbage?

    Glad to help.

Oh dearie me , are we with this again...

The list in tom's hardware site, is worse quality than the toilet paper i use, seriously.

Believe me jonny guru testers don't play around and say it how it is , just post what you need advice (what psu do you need?,etc.) about to here believe me you wont regret the advice and help you get here...

And i couldn't have it said better than the mask:

"Yes but that's a bull shit list, full of bull shit."

In 9 out of 10 times those tier lists are utter bullshit - or just soo subjective that they are bullshit.

Like those damn '10 best whatever shit' videos on Youtube...

There is just one thing you can do with such lists:
    Ignore them!
    The more, the better...

And to keep them up to date it's a bunch of work, to be really good, you need more than one person to maintain such lists.
