Default Intel i5 4690k. Opinions and reviews?

I'm thinking of going with the i5 4690k in my first build. Just trying to get some opinions and reviews on it, and also any recommendations of mid priced mobo's that work well with it and support overclocking and sli.
    Thanks!

What's your intended usage? If it's gaming, then that's usually the CPU of choice these days.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards

As for the mobo - if you want a proper SLI support (8x/8x instead of 16x/4x), then eg. Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 might do the job.

What GPUs do you plan to use? SLI is hardly ever a viable choice.

Mostly gaming. I'm at uni so I need to use cad and programming software regularly but as for photo and video editing, that would be every now and then

    Okay thanks!
Yeah I was unsure about my options here. I was originally considering GTX 970, just a single card. The only reason I would consider sli is if it could offer better performance for a similar price

In most cases you'd be better off just replacing the card in the future, instead of buying a second one.
