Thread: Seasonic M12II 620W Fan Replacement

    I guess after further thought, if the fan is laying horizontally and blowing up, the weight of fan is pushing down, and the force of the air being pushed up is also pushing the fan down.

    If the horizontal fan is blowing down, gravity is pushing down, but the blade assembly is trying to push up, countering some or all of the gravity.

    In either case, with a horizontal orientation, all the force is being exerted onto one small point so seems it would have to be a pretty cheap fan for the up or down orientation to make a significant difference in the life of the fan.

    Exactly. I have a $2 fan that works as well as any other sleeve bearing fan. The difference was the markup.
