Default Cooler Master New GX series

The new GX series is under the CM Storm sub-brand. Unlike the original GX series, it does not have a hyphen in the name.

The product description of the GX550 says:
    100% Japanese capacitors
Custom DC-DC module design offers higher efficiency and voltage stability
ALL black flat cable for easier cable management.
Looking at this image from the website:

and compared to this image of the G550M in the TPU review by Aris, it seems to be the same CWT platform as the GM series, with 100% Japanese capacitors (replacing the CrapXon and Jun Fu ones), but with no modular cables.

Cool, this thing looks perfect for a budget PSU.

This is exactly how I would build a 80PLUS Bronze PSU, only black cables, DC-DC, Jap caps, and with enough PEG connectors (2 on the 450W and 4 on the 650W)

Corsair could learn something from this.

It's so nice when companies aren't afraid to show off the insides of their power supplies.

It looks like it on the pic. I see a Panny Primary with NCC secondaries.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards

I could sear I had a look at a different picture. Probably mixed it up with GX.

Edit: Now I get it. Start post was modified.

Don't I see a half Nippon Chemi-Con logo on the upper primary cap? Not that it matters of course.

At first there was a picture of both the new GX and the modular GM.

    Can I get an "Amen"!?

Seriously though, these look like excellent budget units. The CM Storm sub-brand might be perfect for them as well, as they have a lot of retail penetration. At least in my area.
