Default Corsair CS550 with mostly Elite Caps?

I sa this german review and noticed that the reviewed Corsair CS550W has mostly Elite caps on the secondary?

Another reviewed unit had mostly Teapo (SZ or something like) and just two elites[/url].

    What happened here?

There's an approved vendor list for caps. You can expect caps from the list, and that may not always be only one brand.

I don't know if the list is publicly available beyond "reverse engineering" by peeking into some samples.

Probably Great Wall, despite JG said they offer the best QC (along with AcBel and Huntkey, IIRC) in the industry, is no better than CWT, in this respect: you must specify everything or they will exploit you (even better, your customers).

I'm not exactly a great fan of elite caps. I prefer Teapo and even CapXon. Changing caps without notice is at least bad style.

CS has a very short AVL for caps. Elite (EJ series) is actually the primary source for caps. Teapo (SZ Series) is the second source.

The equivalence among the various options is based upon tan delta and expected life ratings?

Which is why Elite is the first choice, but the cost difference is (way) < $1 per PSU between the two. Availability is the biggest deciding factor.

If that is the case than the use of Elite's is just mind boggling.

Availability is the biggest deciding factor.
If the price difference moved to $3 a unit in order to get product in 90 days but would be the same at 120 days new shipments would be in 120 days. For low end products price sensitivity trumps everything because things in manufacturing are always* available....it's a matter of will you pay for it (and how do you get it)
