    Default Advice for Server Build

I’m putting together a small server array build plan and I need some advice. I plan to install 8 1TB SSDs into a 1U chassis that comes with a 350-watt redundant power supply. I may also install a fan or two. Should I replace the power supply with a higher wattage? It may not be a problem, but I don’t want to be running the system at or dangerously close to capacity either.

    Hard drives: 8 x 2.5 inch 1TB SSDs - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...o_1tb_2_5.html

    PSU: 350-watt 1U redundant power supply - http://www.dynapowerusa.com/dyna/ASP...-350I1H2A0.asp

Making a somehow educated guess, I would say no (to be fair, it depends on how much close is being close, according to you).

Well, those SSDs claim to have a "typical" power consumption of 0.1W each, so I don't think it'll be a problem...

Yeah basically it will be feeding the processor and I think even 8core should be OK. IIRC they should have something like 150 W TDP so it should be around 200 W for the whole system max.
